Just show up on the 1st day of school Happy, Healthy, and ready to learn. The only thing you need to bring is a pen or pencil & a notebook mainly for your academic classes. We will provide everything else. Lockers will be assigned on the 1st day of school. Schedules will be provided on or before the 1st day of school (Orientation Night). If you drive to school, staff members will direct you where to park. If you ride the bus check with your home school for bus schedules. Class starts at 820am so plan on arriving early, especially your 1st day.

1. Follow Directions & Stay on Task. Keep Busy. No Downtime (other than breaks)
2. Respect Your Classmates, Your Teacher, and Yourself

Course Syllabus
Enrollment in Network Systems constitutes an agreement to the below course syllabus.
If you do not agree with anything in the syllabus please let me know before the start of the program.
Course Description :
The Network Systems program will prepare students for careers dealing with computer hardware and software, network systems management and security. Students will gain the necessary skills to analyze computer and network system needs for the design, installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of network systems. Skills acquired will assist students to obtain industry standard network certifications including CompTIA A+ and Network+ as well as Cisco Academy Certifications.
Course Content:

Computer Software
Information Technology
Computer Networking
Computer Security
Assignments include virtual labs, hands on training, job shadowing, quizzes, tests, & individual + team projects.
These assignments and projects give students ample opportunity to demonstrate the standards for the course.
The assignments and projects ask students to demonstrate an understanding of what was covered through written and oral presentations, as well as hands-on and virtual demonstrations.
The assignments ask students to apply what they are learning to real world problems or situations.
There will be field trips during the course of the year as scheduling permits.

Elective Certifications including Cisco, CompTIA & TestOut
Behavioral Expectations:
Students are to be in the classroom in their assigned seats when the bell rings. A tardy entry will be issued for late arrivals unless the student has a valid note from a teacher or other school personnel.
At the beginning of class, students will stop talking, get out the appropriate instructional materials, and prepare for the class activities. Eyes on the teacher and no device use while the teacher is talking unless otherwise instructed.
Students are encouraged to ask questions, express thoughts, and interact with the teacher and with other classmates. However, all students must respect each other and the teacher and raise their hand to be acknowledged by the teacher before speaking out.
No student is to leave the classroom without permission from the teacher and must fill out a hall pass or sign out on the whiteboard.
The class uniform (class uniform shirt, khaki pants, closed toed shoes) must be worn to all classes.
No Student is permitted to wear jeans or other casual attire unless pre-arranged by administration.
No student is to bring a coat or other outerwear, or backpack, to class.
No unauthorized computer, internet, cell phone, or other device usage during class.
Beverages and Snacks are allowed in lab as long as they don't become a problem.
Students are responsible for keeping their work area neat and organized.
Proper grooming should be demonstrated daily.
All assignments will be turned in on time.
A student who violates the above stated classroom procedures may or may not receive a warning from the teacher.
A student who violates the above-stated classroom procedures or who violates any portion of the Vantage Career Center conduct code will be disciplined according to that code as it is stated in the handbook.
All assignments missed due to an absence are the student's responsibility to obtain from the teacher or online assignment website (Google Classroom).
All assignments due to an excused absence will only be given the amount of time absent to be turned in without being considered late & will not extend the time of any other assignments.
All missing or late assignments will result in a score of Zero.
Assessment Scale:
Assessments that will be used to determine the grade for this course will be virtual lab assignments.

Career-Technical Student Organization
Network Systems is a part of the Business Professionals of America organization. Business Professionals of America is a national career-technical student organization composed of state and local chapters. Membership is open to students who are preparing for careers in various business occupations. The organization provides the opportunity to develop leadership skills, to acquire career-related competencies, and to experience personal and professional growth. Participation in BPA activities will enhance social awareness and civic responsibility and improve the student's understanding of the business community. Activities include field trips, guest speakers, and region, state and national contests.
